For the 13th time, Geiranger Sport Association invites to this challenging achievement, which must be among the most
demanding half marathon races in the world. ![]() Track description The run starts in high summer at the Geiranger Fjord, and ends among 5-6 meter high banks of snow on top of Mount Dalsnibba 1500 metres above sea level. The rise varies from an average of 1:12 during most of the track, and 1:8 the last 5 kilometres. The first 16 km are asphalt road, while the last 5 km are on gravel road. But there are not just uphill. Infact, there are three downhill slopes with a lenght of 250 metres each. The first 16 km are almost identical with the road that received a gold medal for excellent engineering at the world exhibition in Paris in 1890. Prizes The prizegiving takes place at 17.00 in the village centre/starting area. There will be payed a bonus for new best time, NOK 5000,- for both women and men. All participants that have completed receive a medal after the finish. Prize for first, second and third best time in each class, for max. 1/3rd of the contestants. Traveling trophy for the best adjusted time for women and men. There will be drawing of a grand prize for all contestants, and contestants registrating before June 15th are also competing for nice gift prizes. Winners of these prizes will be listed in the starting area, and the prizes can be picked up after the race. You will find results from the previous Geiranger Half Marathon here. Registration Registration can be made online or by telephone. Up until June 9th the subscription fee is NOK 200,-, and after that the fee is NOK 300,-. If you register online and state your e-mail adress, you will receice an e-mail when we have received your registration. We offer our foreign competitors to pay the fee cash when picking up their starting numbers.
